About:
I'm a photojournalist working in New York City and the greater New York City area who has covered stories for publications including the New York Post, Asahi Shimbun's Weekly Asahi, Hong Kong Free Press, Tibet Sun, The FilAm, The Brooklyn Eagle, The Villager, The Bklyner, The Indypendent, The Harlem Community Newspapers, BK Reader, This Is The Bronx, The Bronx Daily, The Queens Daily Eagle and Patch.
The stories I photographed in New York City include the COVID-19 pandemic, the riots and rallies following the death of George Floyd, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Syrian refugees, human trafficking, opioid addiction, immigration and the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest. In addition to photographing protests and press conferences, I capture events including vigils, charity events, meetings, dance shows, music, art, sports, ceremonies, parades and festivals.
In 2014, I took photos and wrote stories as a reporter intern for Herald Community Newspapers, a local paper in Long Island, NY. Then in 2015 and 2016, I wrote for Newsday as a reporter intern and later as a freelance journalist. I have experience in various forms of multimedia including making and editing videos and creating editorial web projects. I graduated from Stony Brook University, NY with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2016 after writing stories for the student-run campus news site, The Stony Brook Independent, and managing its social media networks.
